Ali Jackson
Summer Music Festival: Orchestra & Chamber Music Intensive Tuba
Ali Jackson, a professional tubist from the Sugar Land area since 1999, also enjoys teaching low brass private lessons. Since his initial teaching appointment at the age of 16 for First Colony Middle School, Ali’s students have enjoyed consistent success in auditions as well as in solo competitions. Mr. Jackson’s students have gone on to become a myriad of successful musicians, including active freelance musicians, and a university professor of tuba/euphonium, and a two-time first chair All State Tuba player. Mr. Jackson also several multi-year TMEA All State Tuba participants.
Ali enjoys performing with various groups in the Houston area ranging from brass quintets to various concert bands. Aside from playing in several ensembles, Mr. Jackson has been a featured soloist in Jones Hall in Houston Texas, Texas Bandmasters Association meeting in San Antonio Texas and the Midwest Clinic in Chicago Illinois, and the Opera Lucca Festival in Lucca, Italy. Ali’s solo recordings are currently on a rotation on British Brass Band broadcasts throughout Northern Europe.
Ali’s hobbies include Hi-Fi audio equipment, working on cars, studying severe weather, deejay, and home improvement. (Mr. Jackson is also a proud graduate of Clements High School, class of 1999.)
