Programs

AFA is changing the way young musicians hone their craft through chamber music. Our philosophy is based on building on top of instrument instruction and technical mastery: students work together with peers of similar abilities and are coached by AFA’s Teaching Artists on rehearsal norms and etiquette, performance practice, public speaking, music history, and more. The program is open to string, woodwind, and brass instrument players with at least two years of experience and pianists with at least three years of study.

Groups rehearse for 2 hours each Saturday at Garza Studios just outside of downtown in Houston’s East End. Performances in the community are also an important part of the experience. Click here for more information about the current season, or apply today!
