Summer Music Festival: Orchestra & Chamber Music Workshop Viola

I am the Director of Orchestras at Ronald Thornton Middle School. I am a 5th year Fort Bend ISD Orchestra Director. I have served as a private viola teacher and clinician in Fort Bend ISD since 2015 and continue to do so. In 2020, Ms. Karimah Browne and I inaugurated the first Full Orchestra at David Crockett Middle School, one of only three middle schools in Fort Bend ISD to have a Full Orchestra. During the COVID-19 school years, I was selected to write virtual orchestra curriculum. Furthermore, I was the 2021 Fort Bend ISD Summer Orchestra Camp Coordinator and continue to serve as the camp coordinator. In 2022, Mr. Jason Finnels and I inaugurated the first Full Orchestra at Ronald Thornton Middle School and submitted for TMEA Honor Orchestra.

I am a product of FBISD and its excellent orchestra programs. I graduated from Clements High School under the direction of Mrs. Ginger Wolfe. I also attended Commonwealth Elementary and Fort Settlement Middle School. I began my orchestral journey at Fort Settlement under the direction of Mrs. Angela Peugnet. I received a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Houston with some coursework in Nonprofits and graduated Cum Laude. Throughout my time at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music, I performed with the Symphony, Opera, Ballet, and Chamber Orchestras. I also served my school as a Moores School of Music ambassador. My teacher influences include Mrs. Angela Peugnet, Mr. Michael Isadore, Ms. Karimah Browne, Mrs. Karissa Williams, Ms. Carol Crittenden, Ms. Suzanne LeFevre, Mr. Wayne Brooks, Dr. John Snyder, and Maestro Franz Krager.

I am a member of TMEA. In 2022, I accepted the position of the Region 13 Orchestra Chair. I am a violist for the Houston Civic Symphony and Galveston Symphony Orchestra, and I continue to take private viola lessons with Suzanne LeFevre.
