Margaret Davis
Summer Music Festival: Orchestra & Chamber Music Intensive, Summer Music Festival: String Ensembles Institute Harp
Margaret Davis is a harpist, vocalist, and harp teacher based in Houston, Texas. Well-versed in the classical repertoire, Davis studied harp at the Juilliard School, and earned her Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music. She has performed in notable venues throughout the United States including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tulley Hall, and The Jazz Gallery in New York City, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, The Four Seasons Hotel in Houston, and Teatro Degollado in Guadalajara, Mexico. She has performed with professional orchestras, choirs, and chamber groups including the Orquestra Filarmonica de Jalisco, Opera in the Heights in Houston, The Spokane Symphony, The Lancaster Symphony, Ensemble Connect, and the Metropolis Ensemble in New York City. In addition to classical music, Davis takes a deep interest in performing and recording other genres including jazz, electronic, and other fusion music. Her original music project, Astoria Window will release their debut album in 2023. As a teacher, Davis has been a harp specialist in Fort Bend ISD since Fall, 2020 and works with around 40 harp students across the district.
