Students
AFA is here for you; being a student in an AFA program means you are gaining a long list of skills and taking part in a variety of musical opportunities, all designed to enrich your life as a young musician and into the future. AFA is a truly unique experience – a friendly, supportive, growth- and process-oriented environment combined with excellent musical instruction from world-class Faculty Artists. AFA can help you find your path in music and in life!
Families
AFA is committed to providing our students the opportunity to develop lifelong skills through honing their musical skills and technique, including teamwork and communication skills, self-confidence, how to work through challenges, and so much more. AFA’s curricula across all programs offer a breadth of learning and performance opportunities that entrust Faculty Artists with passing on their expertise and knowledge to students in a supportive environment. AFA seeks out Faculty and students from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, further enriching their time spent with us. In addition to providing exceptional programs, we aim to be a resource for young musicians and their families.
STUDENT & FAMILY ESSENTIALS
Join Us! Become an AFA Student
AFA has a four part process that includes an application and audition ahead of the start of each program. This helps us get to know each other and find the best path for you at AFA.
Audition Information
AFA’s auditions are held before each program to help us get to know the musician and to determine readiness for their desired session. There are specific guidelines for each program that are updated and released during each application window.
Tuition Assistance & Scholarships
Financial hardship should never be a barrier between young musicians and their AFA experience. AFA’s Play It Forward Fund is open to all applicants, in addition to other scholarships and discounts.
