Auditions

AFA auditions are intended to determine readiness for participation in the program applied to and to help us get to know the applicant.

Applicants to AFA’s Chamber Music Academy and the AFA Summer Music Festival complete an in person audition in order to be screened for admission into that program.

Composition program applicants (Fall, Spring, or Summer), will have an online discussion (instead of an audition) about their current writing experience where they will review previous work they have submitted (where applicable) and any ideas or goals they have.

    Saturday, March 28 at Kinder HSPVA (strings & piano only)
    Saturday, April 11 at Kinder HSPVA (any instrument)
    Saturday, April 11 at Garza Studios (strings, winds, brass)
    Monday, April 13 at Memorial MS in Spring Branch ISD (strings, winds, brass)
    Tuesday, April 14 at Fort Settlement MS in Fort Bend ISD (strings, winds, brass)
    Thursday, April 16 at Creekwood MS in Humble (strings, winds, brass)
    Saturday, April 18 at Kinder HSPVA (any instrument)
    Saturday, April 25 at Kinder HSPVA (any instrument)
    Saturday, April 25 at Klein Forest HS (strings, winds, brass)
    Saturday, May 2 at Kinder HSPVA (any instrument)
    Saturday, May 9 at Garza Studios (strings, winds, brass only)
